The Monastery of St. Bernard de Clairvaux was built in Sacramenia, Spain, from 1133-1144 and named for the famous Cistercian Monk, Bernard of Clairvaux, a leading influence in the Church at the time. In 1925 William Randolph Hearst purchased the Cloisters and the out-buildings of the monastery.
